CAVU’s interactive dark ride highlights our integrated gaming system, mated to vividly themed 4 passenger vehicles, with indexing and continuous 360 degree rotation. The spinning vehicles, with guests sitting back to back in two rows, travel through virtual environments with riders competing against one another for the best individual and “team” scores.

 

Attraction Description

CAVU′s Twist & Shoot™ Interactive Dark Ride is designed to provide a, dynamic, interactive gaming experience while riders move through a captivating, engaging environment. The ride system consists of multiple vehicles, each capable of carrying 4 passengers seated in a two row guest cabin. The two rows are situated back to back. The vehicles travel throughout the ride path, with the vehicle base unit guided by a vertical guide fin permanently fixed to delineate the path. Between the guest cabin and the vehicle base unit, a powered slewing bearing provides rotation, for a fun and exciting experience.

Twist & Shoot’s gaming system gives one “gun” or scoring device to each rider as well as a scoring screen for each pair of riders. At the end of the ride, riders see a large display where they can compare their scores against their friends and other riders.

Functional Description

Once riders are loaded, a collective lap bar per row lowers in place to secure them. This signals the start of the ride. On-board audio and speakers provide each vehicle with a personal experience, so scene separation is not an issue. The ride vehicles are each equipped with an electrically-actuated slewing bearing, providing indexing or continuous rotation. A vertical fin fixed to the floor provides a guide path for the vehicle. Power is transferred to the vehicle via buss bars and an optical sensor continuously monitors vehicle speed and location.
